Discover the Ore Within!

Our interns, who are included in our internship programme called “Discover the Ore Within” within the scope of our collaborations with universities, go through all the stages of our recruitment process and are included in our candidate pool. In this process, we aim to provide a good experience to our interns with our “Discover the Ore Within” programme, featuring trainings, various events and different activities.

SOM (Success of Mine)

SOM (Success of Mine); is our recruitment project intended for Mining and Geological Engineers with 0-3 years of experience. With SOM, which we realized for the first time in 2019, we created a large candidate pool by identifying young talents. In this way, we both reached our young friends who can adapt to our company culture faster and accelerated our recruitment process five-fold. In addition, we brought students and Demir Export Managers together so that they could get to know us better.

We also had the opportunity to share our project with other group companies on Koç Group Good Practices Day, on occasion of the selection of our SOM project as a “good practice”.

With different campus activities carried out within the framework of university collaborations, we are getting the opportunity to get our talented friends working in the sector on board.

FROM THE FAMILY

All of our newly-employed colleagues have the opportunity to get to know both the company and their colleagues from different units within the scope of the onboarding process called “FROM THE FAMILY”. In addition, we support our newly-employed colleagues throughout this process through a “buddy” assigned to them.

The objective of the selection and placement process is to bring in human resources with the education, technical knowledge, skills and competencies appropriate to the qualifications required by the position, within the framework of an employment policy that prioritizes equality of opportunity. One of the most important criteria in our recruitment processes is the candidate's competencies.

All or some of the assessment tools are applied to the candidates in accordance with the requirements of the position. These tools include the English proficiency test, competency-based interview, personality inventory, assessment center applications (for senior employments) and validation of the references.

In line with our approach of “the right candidate for the right position”, new employees are selected from among individuals who comply with Demir Export and Koç Group corporate culture. All vacancies are first posted on the internal posting system.
