The Uzunpınar Iron Ore Mine is one of the oldest mines of Demir Export A.Ş.

Approximately 165,000 tons of ore have been produced since its founding before 1970; however, production was halted because of problems with reserve, grade, and the overall iron ore market in the country.

As a result of continued exploration efforts, after substantial amount of core drilling took place between 2006 and 2007, indicated and inferred resources reached to over 1.1 million tons at 49% Fe. This ore is being processed using crushing, screening and separation methods to increase the grade of the final saleable product.

The annual production capacity is 100,000 tons per annum.
