The Uzunpınar Iron mine is one of the oldest mines of Demir Export A.Ş.

Approximately 165,000 tons of ore have been produced since its founding before 1970; however, production was halted because of problems with reserve, grade, and the market.

As a result of research, exploration, and drilling works between 2006 and 2007, an average proven and probable 1.1 million tons of iron ore reserve at 49% Fe grade have been identified.

The annual production capacity is 100,000 tons, resulting from restarting production in 2007.
