The Şamlı site is in a distance of 30 km from Balıkesir’s city center.

The Şamlı Mine has been operating since 1975 as a mine site, having high ore grade and facilities with an appropriate infrastructure to produce an annual capacity of 100,000 tons.

The main ore mineral is magnetite at this site, and sales of over 1.6 million tons of iron ore production have been achieved so far.

An average proven and probable reserve is 900,000 tons of iron ore at 57% Fe grade as of year-end 2008.
